To an artist, a sketchbook is where ideas take shape. Drawings, studies of the subject to be painted or sculpted - even little written notes for artworks that are slowly taking form but are not quite there yet. Every painting tells a story and has a story behind it, a story that continues when it is placed in a new home or museum.
